NMTA GROW BOATING PROGRAM NMTA's Grow Boating Program serves the NMTA's core purpose—to increase the number of boaters in the Northwest. The program's mission: To increase the number of boaters and encourage current boaters to boat more often through the development of programs, events and promotions.
Since 2003, NMTA has spent nearly $2 million to promote boating in the Pacific Northwest. NMTA's Grow Boating program is funded through a surcharge on square-footage rented during the Seattle Boat Show each January. The Grow Boating Committee awards multiple grants up to $30,000 in total annually.
The NMTA Grow Boating Committee oversees the management and allocation of NMTA's regional Grow Boating fund, and determines what programs, events and promotions should be undertaken to encourage boating in the Northwest.

Develop reporting systems to give industry more timely information on retail sales.
Disseminate news/information via all appropriate channels and methods to vested industry stakeholders
Adequately staff and support Grow Boating Initiative to maximize industry's investment
