For
almost a year we have been working to get
House Bill 1651 passed in Olympia. The bill
has bi-partisan support. If passed by the
legislature, the bill will take money boaters
already pay through the excise tax on boats
each year and put it in a special dedicated
account for boating programs such as:
- New
boat-launch ramps and repairs to existing
ramps

- Boater
education and safety
- Boating
related law-enforcement activities
- Boating
related environmental programs
- A
study that assesses the needs of the
boating community
